The fascinating story of the convoluted de roumillac
The story of l'Alambiquée de Roumillac began in 2008 when Marion Babinot decided to start growing saffron, a fine spice prized by food lovers the world over. Her passion for farming and her desire to produce high-quality products led her to seek out new opportunities. In 2012, she seized the opportunity to buy vineyards in the region and launched her wine project. And so l'Alambiquée de Roumillac was born.

Unique wines from unusual grape varieties
What really sets Alambiquée de Roumillac apart is its willingness to experiment with grape varieties that are uncommon in the region. Marion Babinot has opted for varieties such as Sauvignon gris, Chenin, Merlot and Arinarnoa to create wines with aromatic notes and very rounded flavours. The Sauvignon gris, in particular, stands out for its expressive character and the exotic fruit aromas that make it irresistible. Each of their wines is a true sensory experience. We would like to extend our warmest thanks to Babinot Marion for its confidence in us by acquiring equipment with a floating cap, such as the 25 HL RURALINOX vat, the 16 HL 304 steel tank and the 28 HL stainless steel vat. Now that we're just in time for the harvest, we're hoping for a very good 2023 crop.
Wine and food pairing: an explosion of flavours
If you're wondering how best to enjoy the wines of Alambiquée de Roumillac, Marion Babinot has a few suggestions. The Sauvignon Gris goes perfectly with fresh or mature goat's cheese, good bread and a little peach jam. A delicious combination that will make you rediscover the pleasure of wine-tasting. Marion herself admits to loving this combination.
Direct discovery at the property

Les filles de charente: a committed collective
Marion Babinot doesn't just work alone. She is a member of "Les Filles de Charente", a group of women producers who have joined forces to promote their products. They organise meals for companies and local authorities to showcase their creations. It's a perfect example of how the region works together to offer quality products.
Atypical products
As well as wines for Cognac, Marion Babinot devotes a small part of her production to direct sales of traditional and more unusual products. Among the treasures you'll find at l'Alambiquée de Roumillac are Drol's, light wine-based aperitifs flavoured with strawberry, rose or tangerine. A real explosion of flavours for those looking for something different. L'Alambiquée also offers non-alcoholic cocktails made with white or red grape juice, ideal for fans of refreshing drinks.
Quality saffron
Marion Babinot also grows saffron with the utmost care. Her saffron fields date back to 2008, and she ensures that saffron is grown in a sustainable way, without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilisers. This environmentally-friendly approach guarantees saffron of the highest quality, which is then used to create unique jams, such as peach and saffron jam, fig and saffron jam, and red pepper and saffron jam.
L'Alambiquée de Roumillac is much more than just a winery. It's a treasure trove of flavours and unique experiences. Marion Babinot has combined her passion for agriculture with her talent for creating exceptional products.
