Heritage and tradition: a 2,000-year journey
The Gaillac region has been home to vine-growing since antiquity, more than 2,000 years ago. Its vineyards existed even before the birth of the city in 972. The Gaillac appellation, the oldest in the South-West, embodies the richness and diversity of the local terroirs. In 1938, it was awarded the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée, guaranteeing the typicality and quality of the wines produced.

Domaine Les Vignals, nestling in Cestayrols in the heart of the Gaillac vineyards, made history as one of the first estates to adopt organic farming methods in the 1980s. After a period of conventional farming, a new team, with Olivier JEAN as winemaker, returned to organic methods, obtaining the Agriculture Biologique label in 2013 and the biodynamic DEMETER label in 2020. There, the land is pampered, the hands that cultivate it are respected, and the know-how is passed on like a sacred heritage.
Respect for the land, passion and innovation
Les Vignals isn't just about vines, grapes and bottles. No, it's a saga of love between land, time and souls united like a loving family. In the vineyards, the typical grape varieties of the South-West - braucol, duras, mauzac and loin de l'oeil - dance to the rhythm of nature, creating wines of unrivalled finesse. In Gaillac and Côtes du Tarn, their wines, rich in biodynamic tradition, are much more than just drinks. They are poems in a bottle, stories told with every sip. |
We would like to extend our warmest thanks to Matteo Calcagno, the oenologist at Les Vignals, for his confidence in our new 43 HL 304 stainless steel vat with cooling coil. The Les Vignals team was able to anticipate the need for this equipment perfectly, and delivery took place at the end of August, allowing us to complete the final preparations in the cellar before the harvest. We wish you a very good harvest and exceptional winemaking in 2023.

A walk around their estate is much more than just a stroll. It's a total sensory experience. Imagine walking among the vines, the sun caressing your skin, birdsong in the background, and the intoxicating scent of ripe grapes filling the air. If adventure whets your appetite, why not book a picnic, a lovingly concocted feast of local delights? From June to August, before, during or after your walk, you can feast on authentic flavours under the generous skies of Gaillac.

And if you fancy a bit of fun during the summer starlit evenings, you can go there every Thursday evening in July and August to take part in their aperitif concerts. You can feast on their wines, meals from a range of local producers and food trucks while listening to a live concert! In 2024, it will be the 12ᵉ edition!
